Pungsan Dog is a Korean national dog. This dog breed has a long local history, it lived in our country for thousands of years. Place of origin of this dog is the County Kimhvengvon Ryanggang province and its surroundings.Since ancient times this place was called Pungsan, and the dog was called Phunsanke which means Pungsan Dog. The relationship of this dog lasted in a remote mountain area, which created favorable conditions for the preservation of the pure blood relationship.

For a long time it lived in the highlands, it was used for the hunting. This dog has an obedient character. It is smart and shows great perseverance while hunting. Dog has an incomparable fighting spirit in fights with other animals. The life expectancy of the dog is about 12-14 years.

The dog has a sensitive sense of smell that allows to find food and to discover traces of the enemy. Basically, this dog breed is white, but some are bright yellow-chestnut color.
